Cupcake Art - Easy Painting Project
Cupcake Art: 🧁🎨
Hi everybody, welcome back to Sticky Note! Today I am going to be showing you an easy but fun art project for any age. It's called... Cupcake Art - well, short for cupcake liner art. Anyway, lets start with the tutorial.
What you Need:
- paper
- cupcake liners
- scissors
- paint
- pain brush (optional)
- something to cover your workspace with so paint doesn't get on it (like paper towels, table cloth, etc.)
First things first, layout the paper towels or whatever you are using to cover you workspace from mess, and put the paper you are using on top.
There are two different ways to make cupcake art. I'll show you the first way, then the second way, and at the end, some art ideas to make with this. Here is the first way:
First, add a drop of paint to the bottom of your cupcake liner.
With a paint brush, spread it out - or you could use your finger, or any other object you don't mind getting paint on.
Press the paint side down onto you paper.
And it will look something like this.
Here is the second way:
The second way is to rip your cupcake liner in half.
Add a drop of paint, and spread it out on the part shown with the blue paint in the picture.
Press it down on the paper, and then lift it off.
You could also use the other side for a slightly different effect.
You don't just have to use one colour, you can add more than one colour onto the liner at a time!
Now that you have learnt the basics, here are some ideas for art. You could follow these tutorials, or make your own designs! Anyways, here they are:
1. The first one is abstract-y art. Just do the first method (putting paint on the bottom) and it down all around the paper randomly. Once you are done using one colour on the bottom, there is no need to use a new cupcake liner - since you don't put much paint on the bottom, once you press it down on the paper a couple of times you should be able to put a new paint colour on the dried paint without the colours mixing.
Do the second method (putting paint on the ridged part) and randomly press it down all around the paper.
2. You can also create a sun by putting yellow paint on the bottom of the cupcake liner. You could leave the sun like this or...
Put paint on the other part of the liner to create beams of light.
If you want to put your sun in the middle of the paper instead of in the corner, then add paint to the bottom, press it onto the paper, and keep on pressing the ridged part all the way around the circle so that there are beams of light coming out of all directions of the sun.
3. You can also create a flower. Add some paint to the bottom of the cupcake liner and press it onto the paper.
Use a different colour on the bottom of the cupcake liner, and press it down all around the first circle.
You will most likely have to reapply the middle circle.
You could just leave it like this, or do this: with a paint brush, paint a stem. Add some petals.
4. That isn't the only type of flower you can make, here is another one!
Start with a circle: Add paint to the bottom of the cupcake liner and press it down.
Put some paint on the ridged part of the cupcake liner and press it down around the circle. You will need to lift up the liner and reposition it a couple times so that petals cover all around the flower.
Paint a stem, and you are done with this flower.
5. Clouds. Add some white paint to the bottom of the cupcake liner and press it down three times onto the paper like in the picture. Just make sure you wait until the other paint on the cupcake liner is completely dry before putting white paint on it - unlike I did haha. With other colours it's okay if the other paint isn't dry, but with white, the previous colour shows up.
6. Grass. Drop some green paint onto the bumpy part of the cupcake liner, and press down on paper to make grass.
Here is my finished art with the flowers, sun, grass, and clouds.
7. Polka-dots. Choose as many colours as you like. I just did two, but you can do more or less - remember, this is just some inspo you don't have to copy the exact thing! Add some paint to the bottom of the cupcake liner and dab it anywhere on the paper. Then do your next colour, press it down randomly all over the paper, next colour, next colour, and so on.
8. Another cool design you can make are fireworks.
Add some paint to the ridged part of the cupcake liner, and press it onto the paper.
You will have to do this more than once, because its won't be a full circle if you don't press it down more than once.
There is one firework,
now add some more to the paper.
That's it for now! Remember, get creative, create your own designs or use the ideas I gave you. See you next time, have fun,
Sticky Note
