How to Create a Win-Worthy Design:
If you are gonna enter, you want to make a great design that will win, right? Well here are some things that you can do to make an awesome design:
1. Use the right colours
Make sure your colour scheme matches the theme. For example:
Pineapple - yellow, tropical, summertime colours
Horoscope - purple, dark colours
Unicorn - pastel, light colours, what you typically see on a unicorn - blue, purple, pink
Love - this one's pretty obvious, but - red and pink
Outdoors - colours you see outside, different shades or green, brown, yellow & orange (sun)
Using the correct colours is very important
2. Pro Tip for Choosing the Colours for your design
Here is a trick for knowing a colour you should use in your design - the background colour of the instructions slides - in the first weekly challenge design you open up. This is only for the first copy. If you open up a second copy, the background is usually just a blue gradient.
2. Make sure it fits into the theme
This is VERY important, If it doesn't fit the theme, you're not likely to win. Don't just put random things. Make sure your design suits the theme.
3. Only use Canva elements
Canva doesn't want you to use random images you find on the internet - or even your own photos, they want you to use THEIR elements. You can find fun and free elements under the element tab in canva.
4. Get Inspiration
If you can't think of anything, simply just search the hashtag #canvadesignchallenge to get some ideas. Just make sure you don't copy someone's design, or make it too similar!
5. Finally, make sure it looks good
Don't make it look messy, just throwing random things that (don't or do) fit the theme. Make sure that each element is in a good spot, and it's organized.
Good luck! I will be posting my entry on my Instagram @stickynoteinsta, go check it out! And remember - if you don't win - there's always next week!
