Actual Sleeping Tips - How to Fall Asleep Faster

Actual Sleeping Tips:   💤

Having trouble falling asleep?  Don't worry, I got you covered.  These aren't the average sleeping tips that don't even work, these actually help you fall asleep faster.

Remember, everyone is different, so some of this hacks might not work for you.  Here they are (listed in no particular order):

  • Make it cold
By turning down the temperature to maker it cooler, this let's you body know it's time to go to sleep.

  • Stay still
Everyone know the expression 'twist and turn all throughout the night'.  But does this actually help?  No, it makes falling asleep harder.  You have to stay completely still and you will be fast asleep.

  • Sleep with socks on
Some people sleep with socks on, some don't.  But people who sleep with them on often fall asleep quicker.

  • Clear your mind
Doesn't seem to simple, does it?  This can be very hard to do, especially when you have so many thoughts running around inside your head.  You can try this exercise: imagine your brain with all the thoughts inside is rising up, through the roof, all the way into outer space.  Once it's there, you can either keep on picturing you brain there, or stop picturing it and continue to think of nothing.

  • Write it down
Sometimes you get a great idea that you can't stop thinking about, so a simple solution to this is to keep a notebook by your bed and when you get a new idea write it down.  This way you don't have to worry about forgetting it and you 'talked' about it.  Even if it isn't an idea and it's just feelings, write it down!

  • Scents
Everyone knows that the smell of lavender helps you sleep.  But a lot of people don't like that scent, so here is a list of scents that help you sleep: lavender, peppermint, cedarwood, and plenty more which you can find by searching 'scents that help you sleep' on google.

  • Wake up earlier
When your sleep schedule is messed up, it's hard to wake up and go to sleep when you want to.  Even if you are tired, wake up as early as you can and each day wake up a bit earlier until you get used to waking up at the time you're supposed to.  Because you wake up earlier, this will allow your body to fall asleep a lot faster.

  • Sounds
Find a sound that soothes you, like rain, and search for a long youtube video of it.  Try to only listen to this when it's time for bed, so that you associate it with sleeping.  It doesn't even have to be a specific sound, you can just search relaxing music or sleeping music on youtube and find one that you like.

I hope this helps and see you next time!
