CHISTMAS Elf and Tree - Paper Shape Stamps! How to Make Them
Paint Stamps: 🖌
Hi everyone welcome back to Sticky Note! Today I am going to be showing you how to make these paint stamps then elf and tree! First I will show you how to make the stamps:
So first you're gonna grab some construction paper, any colour you like. Then draw some shapes. The shapes I will be showing you how to transform into stamps are:
- triangle
- square/rectangle
- pentagon
- trapezoid
If there is any other random shape or a shape not listed here that you want to make, then I have come up with another method that works with any shape. Although with this method, you will need more than just paper! If you only have paper and tape, then stick with the shapes listed above.
Now that you have drawn your shapes, scroll down and look at the tutorial!
Draw lines from each side like in the pictures.
Finish off the lines so they are boxes. It doesn't matter if they are different lengths, we can fix that in the end.
Cut it out where the red lines are.
Fold it where the blue lines are.
Once you have folded it where the blue lines are in the picture in the previous step, tape it together.
That's if for the shapes, but if you want to make it a bit fancier, you can do this:
If the folded papers on the sides are different lengths, you can cut it with scissors starting at wherever the shortest one is.
You can cut out the same shape (eg: pentagon, square [...]) and then tape it on top so there isn't a hole.
Now just dip the bottom of it, the shape part, in paint, and press it down on the paper! Make any design you want, and I will be giving a Christmas example in this post!
If you wanted to create a shape not listed above, here is the tutorial:
Draw and cut out any shape you want.
Glue or tape a pom-pom on the back and wait for the glue to dry.
Now just dip the shape in paint while you are holding onto the pom-pom and press it down onto a paper.
Here is how you make the Christmas elf and tree:
Click here for the video, but if you prefer words, keep on reading:
Elf:
- Use a triangle stamp and press it down at the top.
- Underneath, press down a square for the head
- Then a rectangle for the body
- Then use the side (folded part) of the square to make the arms and the rectangle to make the legs
- Use the corners to make the eyes and mouth
- Add a mini pom pom at the top of the hat.
And that's it for the elf! Now here's the...
Christmas Tree:
- Take the trapezoid and press it down.
- Stack trapezoids on top of each other.
- For the top and final part of the tree, use the triangle.
- Optional:
- Cut out a star and use the 'any shape' method from above to make it a stamp
- Press it down at the top of the tree
- Use the side of the square to make the tree trunk.
